New Products at EuroMold

Wohlers Talk

EuroMold 2006 was heldlast weekin Frankfurt, Germany. The large trade fair consisted of nearly1,700 exhibitors from 45 countries spread across six exhibit halls. More than 60,000 people from 72 countries attended. Several new products were introduced. EOS unveiled its 150,000 FORMIGA P 100 laser sintering system, as well as its new EOSINT P 730 and EOSINT P 390 systems. Envisiontec introduced its Perfactory Desktop system for 30,000.

Travel Tips

Wohlers Talk

This is the time of year when many are traveling. So, I want to pass along a few air travel tips that may help improve your travel experience.. Pack light. Whether Im going on a two-day or two-week trip, I take two bags: a carry-on for my computer, papers, etc., and a roll-aboard. I almost always carry both onto the plane. In more than 25 years of travel, the airlines have never lost or misplaced one of my bags because I dont give them the chance..

The Terminology Challenge

Wohlers Talk

Rapid prototyping has served well as an umbrella term for a long time. In recent years, the application of additive technology has expanded beyond prototyping. Many companies are using it for visualizationnot as prototypesand for custom products and series production. It becomes awkward, even misleading, to say that youre using rapid prototyping (RP) for the direct manufacture of products. Whats more, it is confusing to those who are new to the technology and industry.
