Of course the challenge is not limited to Brazil. Today we took part in a STEM workshop in the small town of Gaib , a short trip south of the large city of Recife in the Brazilian State of Penambuco. What maked the location s o interesting is that it is next to the new industrial city of Suape, an area that is growing by leaps and bounds.

Of course the printer names revealed their location, and the printers were connected to computers that were on the Internet precursor, Arpanet. Back in the 1970’s when I was working at Xerox’s famed Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) we had a capability added to our Alto computers that was very cool. After Gary Starkweather of our lab invented the laser printer, we started building some for our own use and for other Xerox facilities to use as well.

Thoughts on Apple

Thornburg Thoughts

Of course, the entry of IBM into the market with its original PC attracted business customers who had already subscribed to the IBM myth that no one was ever fired for buying IBM. One of my colleagues recently said that “Apple is art; the rest is a kludge.” ” While the second part of his statement is arguable, the first is not – Apple IS art, and this art has been finely sculpted over decades to its present shape. The
