Yesterday, I recently returned from my 22nd visit to Africa. Twenty of them have been to South Africa where additive manufacturing activity is the strongest. Wohlers Associates has conducted many of these courses, the first in August 2015 for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.

is taking its internationally acclaimed course on design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) to Hamburg, Germany. The 13-14 June 2019 course is being supported by Airbus and ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research. The course has received an overall average score of 4.7

I’ll be stretching things quite far to attach “construction marketing ideas” meaning to our visit to Cape Town in South Africa a few days before Christmas. Of course, in this part of the world, summer has just started — and there is a local drought.

Key service providers from South Africa and China also participated. The advanced, three-day course from Wohlers Associates took a deep dive into methods of DfAM, including the capabilities and limitations of most AM processes and materials and consolidating many parts into one.
