A volunteer firefighter from Mississippi whose face was burned off during a fire in September 2001 has received a full face transplant, with the medical community describing the successful operation as an historic event. With the aid of 3D printed surgical models, a team of 150 medical professionals were able to pull of what has been described as the most extensive face transplant ever. 3D Printing Applications
